Stressful Times Lead to Success

No one of us will live forever without any stress in life. We can feel in a stressful situation at work, school, home, and anywhere in the world. It is pretty much feeling under pressure or being in tension.

I strongly believe that feeling stressed leads to success in the long term. Yes, you might be stressed now and because of that, you have failed. However, being stressed will help you to do the thing immediately and act as soon as possible to get this stress out of your head.

What happens to our bodies when we feel under pressure?

According to an article, when we feel under pressure the nervous system instructs our bodies to release stress hormones including adrenaline, noradrenaline, and cortisol. These produce physiological changes to help us cope with the threat or danger we see to be upon us. This is called the “stress response” or the “fight-or-flight” response.

How does stress lead to success?

Simple! During stressful times, you were able to respond immediately and get the thing done or completed to release that stress from you. However, stress won’t last for a very long time. Therefore, there must be many calm days, but you have to do the same things that you have done when you were stressed. Thus, you will be able to do them quicker and faster thanks to the stressful days.

Does that mean stress is positive?

Stress can be positive, keeping us alert, motivated, and ready to avoid danger. For example, if you have an important test coming up, a stress response might help your body work harder and stay awake longer or if you have to complete an important work before the end of the day, your brain will work in a way that this should be completed in 2 hours rather than 5 hours. However, stress becomes a problem when stressors continue without relief or periods of relaxation. This means it is always important to take a break from time to time to relax well and reformat your brain and body.

Long story short, don’t be very overwhelmed with stressful days because they are temporary and won’t last very long. Instead, be grateful for those days because they are leveling you up in an indirect way — by end of the day, you will be satisfied.
